Landmark Book by Bishop Athanasius Schneider Serves as a Moral Compass for our Times

Bishop Athanasius Schneider. The Springtime that Never Came. Manchester, NH: Sophia Institute Press, 2022. Hardcover $21.95. Ebook $9.99. Available from the publisher.

Bishop Athanasius Schneider, a herald of the true Catholic faith, experienced the horrors of totalitarianism as a youth and warns of this danger in our world today. In The Springtime that Never Came, he confronts some of the most fundamental and hot button issues of our time.

Sure to provoke discussion, Bishop Schneider’s no-nonsense answers to Paweł Lisicki’s incisive interview questions were long-awaited by the faithful.

Dan Burke, author and President of Avila Institute, commented, “No one who is serious about understanding and facing these challenges can overlook the contribution of Bishop Athanasius Schneider and his deep understanding of long-standing tradition. He clearly loves the Church and seeks to serve her, bring about her healing, and thus bring proper praise to God and redemption to the world.”

Bishop Schneider’s definitive and unparalleled answers assist readers in a clear theological understanding of the:

  • Four last things
  • Proper celebration of the liturgy
  • Meaning of and distinction between each vocation
  • Confusion surrounding Vatican II
  • Ecumenical, ecological, and liberation movements
  • Rampant heresies, such as relativism, that plague our world
  • Role of the Pope and College of Bishops
  • Church’s teachings on human sexuality

Jesse Romero, author of The Devil in the City of Angels, enthused, “Bishop Schneider says of our Catholic Faith that it ‘gives us greater certainty than the certainty of mathematics,’ and with that clarity addresses each and every uncomfortable issue we face as a Church and as a society. This book is an enlightening page-turner, and every Catholic should read it.”

Through numerous heresies across the centuries apostasy became a pandemic and we are now experiencing the aftermath. This is why Bishop Schneider calls the faithful to a new evangelization and shepherds them in navigating the linguistic acrobatics of modernity.

Readers will be encouraged to uphold Church teachings, return to the sacraments, and worship God during persecution. They will learn to trust God, be faithful to their vocations, and give witness through heroic virtue like the saints.

  1. The Bishop forgets and ignores the massacre of the unborn. Abortion is a daily, global murder by the mother and murder of an innocent defenseless baby and the Bishop spends an entire book about making yourself holy. That is not going to end well.
