Couple to Couple League Announces “Natural Plan,”
An Overview Program For Young Couples Today
CCL’s newest offering serves as an invitation for couples preparing for the sacrament of marriage
Couple to Couple League, the premier provider of Natural Family Planning (NFP) instruction thanks to its 50 year tenure teaching it, has designed and launched a brand new course called Natural Plan – an introduction to NFP created with today’s couples in mind. With 75% of women who are child-bearing age in the U.S. using some form of artificial birth control, it has become more vital than ever to educate couples on the benefits of NFP.
“Natural Plan provides a tool for parishes to share the benefits and beauty of Natural Family Planning to young couples,” said Katie Zulanas, Executive Director of Couple to Couple League. “Filming these videos was truly an inspiring experience because I was able to work with these young couples and hear their witness of living the NFP lifestyle.”
Natural Plan is a course that was designed to help couples choose the NFP method that is right for them. Zulanas said there was demand from parishes and individuals alike for a program that touches on the philosophy behind NFP in addition to an overview of the various methods within its framework. In Natural Plan, couples will hear from physicians about the science behind NFP, clergy who teach on Theology of the Body and Responsible Parenthood, and married couples who encourage and bear witness to its effectiveness.
“We want to enable couples to transform their marriage through a new openness and selfless love by practicing NFP,” said Couple to Couple League Director of Development Heather Murphy. “CCL wants couples to know that turning away from artificial methods of birth control will absolutely lead you to something greater in your life and in your marriage.”
The course is available at learnnfp.org and is made up of 10 instructional modules and additional bonus materials covering more targeted topics. While Natural Plan was designed with parishes and dioceses in mind for in-person teaching, an option exists for couples to take the course online. Natural Plan is low cost and includes materials and resources, as well as a 60-day free trial of CCL’s Peak Day app – an app designed to help couples track their fertility.
