End of the World? Everyday is Judgment Day

Judgment Day

 Judgment Day

I believe everyday is Judgment Day! Let’s start with some COMMON SENSE, Shall we? Voltaire puts it this way “Common sense is not so common.” I agree with Voltaire on this one. Let me add some spice here too. . . Fr. John Corapi (now the Black SheepDog) once said, “In the end, forever, you and I will be in Heaven or Hell. Period.” Amen to that Father or is it Mr?

The Obvious Realities

Everyday is Judgment day. I say so because everyday someone somewhere dies. The world comes to an end to such a person. Once upon a time I lost my dad in 2006 whiles studying at College. The world came to and end for him you see? So is this reality for many people here and there. People die everyday, this means the world has come to and end for these people as the Scripture would put it this way:

And just as it is appointed for men to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him. (Hebrews 9:27-28 RSV)

Oh I’m much familiar with the particular Judgment and General Judgment doctrine.

The question to ask ourselves is how prepared are we if we are do die today, this very hour if the world does come to an end for you and me where would we be? Heaven or Hell? I hope you are not putting your last bet on Purgatory? Those who usually hope for purgatory as their last bail might be disappointed unfortunately not because there is no Purgatory but because they’ve missed the mark.

How prepared have you been? Do you take God seriously enough? Hello! Have you heard that Saint Thomas Aquinas after having the great revelations finally realized that Philosophy was “A JOKE?” If one of the finest thinkers ever could come to this and King Solomon the wisest man ever that God created who out of his wisdom could not overcome death but writes in Ecclesiastes that “vanity upon vanity is all vanity,” then what are you still waiting for?

When the Day of Judgment comes, we shall not be asked what we have read or believed, but what we have done; not how well we have spoken, but how well we have lived.
