Are We Prepared for Tomorrow?

This week I remember hearing news about a devastating typhoon which occurred in the Philippines. Let’s remember this country in our prayers. See image below:

I also remember the Central Texas fires which was in the news. Something quite interesting happened along it but was not widely broadcasted the way when a priest falls into temptation it becomes national, I mean international news. Watch the video below.

Also excuse the Latino man. He said we prayed to it. I think it is either an issue of poor Catecheses on his part or a lack of command of the English language. He meant he prayed to her, Mary our Mother not the statue. Okay?

I used tomorrow in the title in a double sense. Firstly to mean the apocalpyse whether we as a people are preparing ourselves for that day – whenever it may be. I am not Harold Camping to predict any date though. After all, Pope Saint Peter was very clear when he said:

For the time has come for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? And “If the righteous man is scarcely saved, where will the impious and sinner appear?” (1 Peter 4:17-18 RSV) Lord have mercy. Amen.

Secondly by tomorrow I mean the word in the literal sense. Tomorrow is the beginning of the Rosary month. The month of October is Rosary month. Have you forgotten? I hope not – Just joking 🙂

What are your preparations for this august occasion of the Church? We all know that the Rosary is part of the private devotions of the Catholic Church and I believe not many of you might be aware that the Rosary was not even mentioned in the second Vatican Council for a good reason.

The Church in her wisdom has made it possible for us to experience the Gospel message in a deeper, more personal and communal level via the mysterious of the Rosary. It is my hope that we may take full advantage of this opportunity to our own spiritual and moral growth.

There are some loud mouth there who have no clue about what the Church really teaches about the Blessed Virgin Mary and also the Rosary. I think it’s time for us to learn and re-learn these truths and help evangelize a brother or a sister out there. Yes we can! God bless you.
