The Evangelical Catholic Conference Equips Priests
to Unleash Missionary Power of Parishioners
The Evangelical Catholic Announces Its First-Ever Conference Designed Exclusively for Priests
The Evangelical Catholic, an organization currently training thousands of Catholics for missionary outreach, announces a conference experience designed to give priests the skills and tools they need to activate their parishioners as effective Catholic missionaries in their own communities. “Priests for an Apostolic Age” is a three-day conference set to take place January 24-26, 2023, in Dallas, TX.
“We are not living in Christendom anymore. The Church cannot wait for people to come inside her doors to hear of Christ. Now is the time to consider new strategies to ignite missionary hearts and to testify to the transforming love of God,” said Monsignor James P. Shea, keynote speaker and President of University of Mary in Bismarck, ND.
The three-day immersive experience will feature speakers like Author and Radio Host Dave Durand, a keynote address from Monsignor Shea, and daily Mass with additional opportunities for adoration and Reconciliation.
“Many good priests and bishops in this country feel the urgency to evangelize the world. But the old ‘program’ paradigm is not working. Parish programs do not evangelize the world outside the parish,” Jason Simon, President of The Evangelical Catholic, said.
The Evangelical Catholic is a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming lay people into zealous leaders who are excited and equipped to go out and evangelize their communities. The conference will provide priests with the opportunity to gather with others who share similar convictions on evangelization, learn how an outdated understanding of the parish could be holding them back, and how to leverage their influence to activate a movement of missionaries.
“This conference will give priests a crisp vision for an apostolic church, show the priests how they can lead into this vision, and give them practical training to be maximally effective in making this shift,” Simon continued.
This event is co-sponsored by OSV Institute for Catholic Innovation, which will lead a pre-event gathering designed to help priests hear and respond to the ministerial needs of their flock more effectively.
The Evangelical Catholic is known for its unique training approach that helps people develop their own unique gifts for evangelization, establish daily prayer lives, receive the sacraments regularly, and learn how to share their testimonies and spread the gospel through small groups and one-on-one outreach.
