St Joseph

Dear Friends,

As we all know the feast day of St Joseph is coming in just a few days. It is one of my favorite times of the year because the Catholic Church gets to honour this great saint.  Yes, he is Jesus’ foster father but he played an important part in the life of Christ.

I would like to share with you something that I wrote in honour of my patron saint.

Oh St. Joseph, You’re definitely not an average Joe. You were a humble and obedient servant of God. I can’t imagine what it must have been like to travel with our Lady in the desert to the stable on that special night. Anyone can be a Dad but it takes someone Special to be a father. By your love, devotion, and example, You were that special someone to Our Lord,Jesus Christ. You were a righteous man who was going to leave quietly since you didn’t want Mary to experience shame. The Angel of the Lord came and you listened. The fact you had listened showed you are a real man of God. To have lost a child must have been horrifying. However, finding your child in the temple amongst the teachers listening and understanding the laws and faith must have brought great joy. Thank you, St Joseph for doing the right thing and for being the man, husband, and father that you were called to be. You truly are an inspiration to all men on this earth.

To those like myself who have the name Joseph, and even to those who don’t, let’s remember what St Joseph has done for Christ and for the entire Church. Joseph like any name is special. Let us also remember that God has called us by name.

A couple of years ago, A friend of mine from Brandon, Manitoba here in Canada (Joe Rodrigues) wrote a book about St Joseph called St. Joseph: Prince of the Church.  In this book, he leaves nothing out. There is so much included in this book. I know for me, After I picked it up, I couldn’t put it down.  I encourage you all to consider purchasing this book. By doing so, you’re building a devotion to St. Joseph.

  1. I would like to thank St Joseph for his prayers for the healing of my best friend. She had been coughing up phlegm tinged with a litte blood every morning. After going to several doctors (even specialists), the phlegm never stopped and she had been taking lots of strong medication. I decided that it is best to ask God for healing and also through the help of St Joseph. I asked him to pray for me to Lord Jesus for healing and praise the Lord! She just called me and from there, i learnt that she had stopped coughing up phlegm and that the phlegm simply dissasspeared! Praise the Lord and many thanks to St Joseph for his prayers too!!

  2. I have also read this book and it has now become one of my favorites, I go back to it many times. I read on the website that the author is coming out with a new book, also on Joseph, but it does not say when it will be released =(
